Orkhon Valley

Discovering Orkhon Valley

Nestled in the heart of Mongolia, the Orkhon Valley is a place of profound natural beauty and historical significance.

It's a land where time seems to stand still, and where ancient traditions and stunning landscapes come together to create a captivating tapestry of culture and history.

A Land of Tradition:

The Orkhon Valley is a living testament to Mongolia's rich cultural heritage. Nomadic herding, traditional craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the land are all integral parts of the valley's way of life.

The region is known for its nomadic communities, who have preserved their unique customs and practices for generations.

Visitors to the Orkhon Valley can witness the enduring traditions of the nomadic people, from their distinctive yurts (ger) to their horsemanship skills and hospitality.

Natural Grandeur:

Nature lovers will be awestruck by the Orkhon Valley's breathtaking landscapes. The Orkhon River, often called the "Blue Pearl of Mongolia," meanders through the valley, creating a picturesque scene.

Surrounding it are rolling hills, lush meadows, and stunning waterfalls, making it a paradise for hikers, photographers, and adventurers. The valley's stunning terrain is a testament to the raw, unspoiled beauty of Mongolia.

Historical Significance:

Orkhon Valley is not just a place of natural beauty but also holds historical importance. It was once the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire in the 13th century when Genghis Khan and his successors ruled over vast territories.

The valley is dotted with historical sites, including ancient monuments, stone inscriptions, and archaeological treasures that tell the story of this powerful empire and its legacy.

At Orkhon Valley Production, we are inspired by the magic of this remarkable region. Our documentary work aims to capture the essence of the Orkhon Valley, showcasing its cultural richness, natural splendor, and historical significance. Join us on a journey to explore this extraordinary destination and its stories through the lens of our passionate team.

Meet Ray

My name is Ray KaiBerke. I am embarking on a journey across Canada, Europe, through the Steppes of Central Asia and finally to Mongolia.

There the goal is to find a sacred mountain, one which it is said bestows on those worthy a unique power to unite people. Fiction of course, but a powerful symbol nonetheless and one which I hope to use for a good cause.

This is one of those rare times in life where something checks all the boxes and simultaneously is challenging on multiple fronts – especially since I am doing this solo.

That said, I welcome help. I need assistance finding places to pitch my tent/filmmaking/social media/contacting people etc. If you have time to spare, do not hesitate to reach out!

The Orkhon Valley

The Orkhon Valley encompasses 121.967 hectares and can be found in Central Mongolia. It also includes Kharkhorum, the 13th and 14th-century capital of Chinggis (Genghis) Khan’s vast Empire. The inclusion of this site is a tribute to Mongolia’s nomadic culture, that even now persists.
